Red flowers for Keesie
There are hundreds of these popping up all thru the forest.

Bob I have no idea what they are except beautiful.
The total height above ground aprox 26 inches and the flower 5 inches in diameter

Wait until the Flame lilies bloom - see them at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Flame_lily - they used to be the Northern Rhodesian national flower, but I have no clue whether Zambia still loves them. ;-)

They look like overgrown Dandelions spray painted red...but what do I know.

I'm pretty sure these are called *Blood Lilies,* or African blood lilies.
They're in the Amaryllis family. If you like Amaryllis, this will sound strange, because they look very different. Blood lilies look just like alliums (onion family), as Bobg noticed.
One day I will have a nice crop of my very own. They supposedly do well here - although I don't think I've seen any around.
