Brains and Gall fighting it out
The dog above is a Fox Terrier.
These dogs are extremely good hunting dogs, clever, and with big enough balls to tackle anything.
From my comments:
Maeve: "My Evil Auntie has a fox terrier. She is bit of a wussy though. Sweet dog."
KeesKennis:
"Maeve,
They have to grow up in that enviroment obviously. I also know some wussy, foxy, lapdogs."
I promised Guyk in his comments a while ago that I will tell a story of hunting lions.
"Gall" the new word in my vocab comes from Rob.
I thought this only applied to bladders.
Well here goes.
In the days before South West Africa became Namibia, KeesKennis and a local farmer were on the trail of a lion.
This lion had made a meal of two or three livestock and had to be killed.
After 3 days and two nights in the bush the dogs smelled and showed that they were smelling the lion, close by.
My host, a very experienced bush man, whispered "Watch the Foxy".
She was quivering from head to tail.
Her HEART was telling her to go forward while her BRAIN was telling her to turn, run and hide.
Her heart slowly won and as she got closer her hair on her neck and shoulders bristled more and her snarl became something out of a horror movie, all GALL now.
She led, followed by myself and my host at about 20 meters, followed by the other three dogs, a good 50 meters back.
We were in shrubland and it soon became apparent that the lion could only be in a certain cluster.
The foxy was about 20 meters from the bush when I spotted the switching lion tail and pointed it out to my host. He fired once. The lion arched into the air and crashed down.
Only one dog visible then, the little white and black foxy, all over the lion, pulling and tugging on HER prize.
Later that evening (after having a wash & laundry) I asked my host how the dog could possibly smell the lion above the overwhelming smell that fear had generated in my loins.
I only admit to a small number 2.
Something else must have
stunkup the air.
Blame the dogs behind us.
My host was very kind.
"Your first one Nic, well done, you did not run, that's good, have another brandy"
We confirmed that we killed the right lion by checking the stomach contents - lots of sheep.
He was an old male with a gimp leg.
We knew that from the spoor (footmarks).

On a Lighter note.
I found this on the net, as a young boy these comics were circulated in some SA papers.
I had to save this post three time as a draft - power out's.
Update: From the comments it looks like the KeesKennis marriage has now sunk so low that we only communicate thru comments. LOL.

It's me again (having fun!)... regarding your post. I had a beautiful female fox terrier come pavement special one day. She arrived in my life unasked for, uninvited. Her legs were about half the lenght of the pic you showed so she caught something along the way in her soul's evolution. She was very submissive but spunky too. Her name was Sandy. She came from the SPCA. Every opportunity she turned belly up. That's why I say she was submissive. She certainly wasn't yellow. She attacked everything in sight that wasn't 'home'. She had a huge valiant spirit. I miss her. She died, and I wasn't around. Sorry, Sandy. I love you. Never mind, I got who you were. Never stuff with terriers unless they let you and then you should know. They are letting you. So who is the boss? MM with love for Sandy, my terrier. RIP

I reckon the best ting about being Scitzo is that you are never lonely...Now about that lion..I suspect he would have chased me until he started slipping back on that stuff running down my legs..

Terriers' are not to be fucked with. My Grandfather always said, "when your in a brawl, pay special attention to the smallest guy".
Just curious...what caliber and type of gun was used to down that big-ass Lion?
