Yes Lisa, check out my anthills.

Number 1 with truck for scale

Number 1 without truck

Bigger one a bit further

Here in the this part of Zambia they grow(?) even bigger.
There are thousands of them.

Comments:

Those are anthills? I just got a serious case of the willies! I don't think I could stand being in the same area as them. Are they fire ants?

Amazing .... guess you don't step on one of these by accident!

I've never seen any hills that big. I hear those buggers are vicious too. Like piranha. Yikes. Makes my skin crawl to think about it.

Oh, Keesie. There ain't enough Amdro to kill those suckers...
Good luck on your relocation. Moving sucks.

Thanks for the photos, Keesie, I'd forgotten the anthills.
Those ants aren't really a problem - watch out for white ants, which can eat your rafters out before you can wipe the sh*t out of eyes and there was a type of army ant called a Matabele ant (named after the native tribe from Zimbabwe).

At the worst, something (badger, maybe) will dig a hole in the side of one of those hills and a mamba will move in - not a good neighbour.
