Decrepit, Old, but no Fool

On the 23rd of December last year I listened to somebody I shouldn't have listened to and posted the post below, merrily believeing that platinum was sold per avoirdupois ounces.

Tricky maths

An ounce of gold sells at USD 620.
An ounce of platinum sells at USD 1220.
Why am I correct to say that platinum is 2.39 times more expensive than gold?

Comments: THEN

I am stumped because according to my book, both are measured in Troy ounces (31+ grams) rather than more common avoirdupois (28+ grams). So I must plead ignorance. Can you give us a hint?

BTW, HAPPY NEW YEAR!

Of course DoF is right.
Anybody with access to Wikepedia or Google can check.
I was too lazy and now have to post this correction.

I actualy Googled to find the picture of Helen of Troy.

Comments: NOW

That is Helen of Troy? Looks just like this hooker I met one time in Europe..
