Travelers Palm - Tony says
We had two growing in our garden.
Comments:
Yup. Traveler's Palm. I have three in my front yard, fairly young still.
They're related to the Bird of Paradise. The one we usually think of makes the gorgeous flowers of decorator fame; down here we call them Blue Birds.
A larger one, showy in its way but not as colorful, is the White Bird of Paradise.
Then is the Traveler's Palm. It gets HUGE, can make enormous trees. Same type of flower, not as showy as the White Bird, but really giant.
It's the form of the fronds on that Traveler's Palm that's so striking. Lovely, lovely. We have them hanging out everywhere down here and I take pix all the time.

Yep, K should know, living in Broward County. I'm just few hours up I-95 and our Palms are humongous and gorgeous. Thanks for the pics.
