Perspectives - Cynic
The present spat.
Despite the bigger things, that may still happen, like nukes and such, I am underwhelmed.
In 23 days of fighting, 1000 in Lebanon and 100 in Israel is dead.
In SA in the same 23 days there have been 1550 victims of murder.
By gun, knife, club whatever and carries on to total 24 000 plus per year.
I am not complaining I am just stating some facts.
I am not untouched by death anywhere, it is just that the media is playing this a bit too hard.
This touchy/feely world is leaving this old baboon behind.
A green tree hugger said about the deaths in SA "They are doing it to themselves"
She almost became a statistic through choking when I replied "So is Hizbollah, my dear"
At least we are not targeting kids here.

Well said, Kees...it's amazing what's ignored in other non-oil rich countries and what's an "OUTRAGE" in areas where there's something to be gained by other countries. It's more than a little annoying.
