I love boats

Dhows at Pemba island.

The Old Men Admiring Themselves In The Water.

I heard the old, old men say,
'Everything alters,
And one by one we drop away.'
They had hands like claws, and their knees
Were twisted like the old thorn-trees
By the waters.
I heard the old, old men say,
'All that's beautiful drifts away
Like the waters.'

William Butler Yeats - 1904.

Kees, your poem today and your images are a treasure to me. I love the ending stages, the raggedness of old boats and old men. Bless you.

I love boats too but I'm a little afraid of them. I'm not a strong swimmer anymore. I've only sailed out of the sight of land once in my life and that was for only about 20 minutes between Cays in Belize.

Nice photo, and a perfect poem with which to underscore it.
